About Our Board

Our members support the Foundation and its purpose, to provide financial support to the Ashland School District through the following functions:

(1) To enhance the educational opportunities for students of the Ashland School District.

(2) To acquire financial resources for students, faculty, and staff of Ashland School District in their efforts to improve educational opportunities.

(3) To assist in expanding the property or equipment of Ashland School District.

(4) To carry out other supportive activities for the Ashland School District.

The Board is a dedicated group of about 15 volunteers who reflect the diversity of our district and its educational needs. ASF strives for representation from each of our public schools, as well as the larger community. Members oversee the administration of ASF and its staff, and operate under the guidance of the Executive Committee, which consists of annually elected officers (Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer) and the Executive Director.

Board members commit to an initial 3-year term, and can renew on an annual basis for up to three additional years. Members participate in monthly board meetings, serve on at least one committee (see list below), attend Foundation events, and make personally meaningful financial contributions annually to the Foundation (no specific amount required). New members are elected by the current Board each spring and begin their terms with the first meeting of the school year the following August.

If you’re interested in knowing more about the ASF Board or potentially joining as a member, please email the Executive Director at asf@ashland.k12.or.us or call (541) 482-8197.
